From Poland to Greece and back...
When I was in Greece I met very interesting people, I got to know Greek culture and traditions. The school was different than the schools in my country. In Poland the corridors aren’t in the open-air, and trees don’t grow in the school yard. I was also surprised by the toilets at school. It was the first time when I saw mandarin, lemon and orange trees .
I also loved my host family, especially my host sister. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. Although I was homesick at first, my host family made me feel at home.
I loved the trips to the Acropolis and Delphi and I was very happy to learn a lot about the Greek history. Thanks to Comenius I not only improved my knowledge of English, but also learned a few words in other languages (Spanish, Greek and Portuguese). It was an unforgettable experience for me.

In Greece I was hosted by the girl - Olga. She and her family were very kind and hospitable. In their house I felt very well. All the people I met were very happy. In Poland I rarely meet so cheerful people.Greece is a very beautiful country. I liked the combination of the mountains and sea. I've never seen anything like that. I liked oranges and lemons on the trees. I want to come back there in the future. Sylwia Bachor (Poland) |
I met a fantastic Greek family,
which showed me how people live in this
country. I could compare life in Poland to Greek life. Now I know that Greek
people are more easy-going than Poles. The trip to Greece gave me also a
possibility to see how students spend their time at school.I was surprised that
they have so many private lessons after
school and that almost all of them learn to dance. If I had a chance to chose a
school, I would go to a Greek school, because I thinklife there is easier.
I also liked orange and lemon trees in the streets and sunny weather. There were a lot of fantastic ancient buildings. My favourite sights were Acropol and Parthenon, of course. If I have a possibility I will definitely go back to Greece one day.

In Greece we experienced friendly atmosphere and great hospitality of the hosts. Welcoming the Polish group at the airport by the Greek coordinator and the headteacher was a nice surprise. Breathtaking landscapes, the sapphire sea, olive trees, vineyards, mountaintops covered with snow, rich culture of the country and their ancient buildings in Delphs and Athens made an enormous impression on us. |
We were surprised by the length and abundance of Greek meals and that they don’t drink tea which is considered the staple drink in Poland.
